Bhubaneswar”17/5-Today Ashok Kumar Das, Jr.Engineer (JE), Basudevpur Block, Dist. Bhadrak has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe Rs.10,000/- from a contractor to facilitate release of bills for works executed by him. Accused Sri Das refused to release the bill amount unless he was paid the demanded bribe. The entire bribe money of Rs. 10,000/- has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Das, JE and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at four locations of Sri Das on DA angle. In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case No 4/2025, U/s-7PC (Amendment)Act , 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Das.
